Changing Seasons Clock

"Changing of The Seasons Clock"

Hi everyone! I so glad to finally put this tutorial on here today!
I created this clock a while ago with the intention of featuring every alcohol ink technique out there. I had saved the design in hopes that one day it could be used as a way for me to demonstrate how fun and easy it is to created three dimensional art, no matter what media you use!
Ok here we go!!!
I cut pieces from a cardboard box to make the base of the clock and covered those pieces with "faux wood" made from alcohol inking photo paper and Yupo. Here's a link to a video on how I created some of the wood.

The Sizzix "Lumber 3-D Texture Fades" embossing folder by Tim Holtz gave this such a realistic wood finish!

A piece of vellum was the base for the clock face as I needed something that I could put a light behind. Yes! It lights up!

This clock sits on a "Hard-Core Art Panel" that I inked to make it look as though there was paper peeling back from it. This is a flat surface, believe it or not!

A little "Alcohol Ink Lift" and some droplets of alcohol completed the background!

And then it was time for the flowers! My favorite part was and always will be.... adding flowers and embellishments! These were all cut from alcohol inked sheets of paper! Yep! Just ink an entire sheet in colors you need and die cut flowers and other embellishments whenever you need them!
If you were wondering about the dies used they were all Sizzix Tim Holtz: Garden Greens, Funky Floral #3, Funky Floral #2, Tropical, Planks, and Time Keeper. Hope I didn't forget any! There were just so many and I got so carried away!

My heart and soul literally resides inside of this clock! Can you tell?!! The Magic of the changing of the seasons, the hope for a new, brighter, tomorrow...from bright tropical elements to frosty tranquility.

Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter....

Oh, and this tiny leaf was created by dropping alcohol inks into epoxy resin! And the keys were distressed with a little alcohol ink mixed into grit paste!

So there you have it! Alcohol Inks in every way imaginable to create this "Changing of the Seasons Clock!"  From the "lift" technique, to distressed effects with grit paste, epoxy resin, silver sparkle paper, and everything in between! Thank you so much for taking a peek at my tutorial! I'm looking forward to sharing so much more with you! Please let me know what you think! And if you have any ideas for future posts, let me know that as well! Would love to hear from you! And as always, if you'd like to see more alcohol inked or mixed media designs, or if you wish to take one of my classes in the future, please follow the links on the sidebar to my Instagram and Facebook accounts! Take care and I will see you soon....
it's you're turn to go create some Magic!
