I used Alcohol Inks to create a wood swing with the Tim Holtz "Lumber 3D Embossing Folder." I like to call it "turning paper back into wood!" Its one of my favorite effects because it's so easy and it looks so amazingly real! Just look at that wood!
I used flowers from Tim's Idea-ology, "Bouquets" pack and I also handmade a few with the "Tiny Tattered Florals" die set. This is an older set that involves a bit of "quilling" to form 3D flowers. Ahhhh.... don't fret! Die cut a bunch, sit on the couch, and roll away! It's so worth it! I promise!
Of course I used the left over alcohol ink from another project to swipe up a bit of color to tint the petals of the flowers! (Nothing wasted, even in art!) This Gnome was part of the Simon Says Stamp December kit that also came with a huge set of stamps.
I found that if you turned the Christmas trees over, they make nice little stems for flowers!
You can guess how many times I'll be doing that in the future as well as how many times I'll be using this adorable little gnome! I really hope you enjoyed this one! It was so much fun to create!
So much thanks to Simon Says Stamp for creating yet another die that adds endless possibilities to my own designs, to your amazing Design Team for endless inspiration, and of course to Tim Holtz for countless tutorials and support for all of us "makers" on so many mixed media techniques for every level. Until next time...
stay creative and
Never say never!
