Puddles of Autumn Leaves

"Puddles of Autumn Leaves"

(Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Recycle")

Last weeks snowfall is almost gone here in Ohio and I'm starting to see all of the leaves now floating in puddles of water.

How amazingly positive is that?! This card reminded me of all of the leaves and muted colors reflected off those puddles!
I used alcohol inks for the background and cut the leaves from scrap pieces of alcohol inked odds and ends that were in my non-recyclable paper trash.....perfect for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge "Recycle" don't you think?!
Who knew that my non-recyclable paper trash would become a Recycleable work of art?!!
Some of the pieces weren't big enough to fit some of the dies from the Tim Holtz "Skeleton Leaves" die set so I tucked them behind others on the card. And there were some that I purposely didn't cut all the way through because the alcohol ink pattern was...just too crazy good to cut! Just look at those patterns in there! I'm an alcohol ink fanatic so saving a good pattern like this just makes my day!

I used Distress Oxides to color some of the underlying leaves so they would match the alcohol ink and finished it up with a tattered raffia bow! Did you notice the little hello cut from one of the leaves? Pssst.....It ended up there because I had so much fun with the leaves that I ran out of room for a sentiment! No Worries!
So here's to looking at puddles in a whole new light!
Take time to notice the beauty that surrounds you; regardless of the depth of the puddle! You never know what you may see! Take care...until next time!~🖤

  1. How brilliant to incorporate a leaf as your sentiment! Your turning these "trash scraps" into such a beautiful card made me think of Romans 8:28 "We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose." You certainly have been touched by Him, Sheila!
